Self Esteem is the value you put on yourself, the satisfaction and confidence you have in yourself as a person.The pressures on women in society to be flawless and thin ultimately lead to women’s low self-esteem and negative self/body image.

Every time you turn on the television or flip through a magazine you are reminded of it. You are reminded of how society prefers to see women: beautiful and thin. After all, almost every advertisement or major movie includes women who look like super models. It is natural to want to look just as glamorous and stunning, but did you know that models make up less than 1% of the population? Yet the way the media portrays them, you would think the majority of women are drop-dead gorgeous and wear a size 4.
It is no wonder so many women have negative self-images and poor self-esteems. What we see in magazines are women who we think look “perfect”
but in reality it is just a ton of makeup and photoshop. As we all know, no one is perfect. Perfection is unachievable. So when the other 99% of the female population strive to look and be perfect, they are doomed to fail. It only leaves women feeling bad about themselves because they are unable to meet such high expectations.
The whole beauty idea goes hand-in-hand with self-esteem. The bottom line is being happy with yourself. If you accept yourself, you can be happy with who you are.

So remember, BE(YOU)TIFUL.
